It’s summer time and too hot for this “S**T”!

More than 60 campers from Northeast Philadelphia were turned away from a private swim club and left to wonder if their race was the reason.

I heard this lady, she was like, Uh, what are all these black kids doing here? Shes like, Im scared they might do something to my child, said camper Dymire Baylor.

The Creative Steps Day Camp paid more than $1900 to The Valley Swim Club. The Valley Swim Club is a private club that advertises open membership. But the campers first visit to the pool suggested otherwise.

When the minority children got in the pool all of the Caucasian children immediately exited the pool, Horace Gibson, parent of a day camp child, wrote in an email. The pool attendants came and told the black children that they did not allow minorities in the club and needed the children to leave immediately.

The next day the club told the camp director that the camps membership was being suspended and their money would be refunded.

I said, The parents dont want the refund. They want a place for their children to swim, camp director Aetha Wright said.

If only….

In my first edition of  “Throwback News”, I take a look at one of the main reasons why I write this blog.  There are just some stereotypes that will never be crushed, but why give the enemy any ammo.

That’s why we have shows like “From G’s to Gents”.

and  VH1’s “Charm School” (I prefer season 1 with Mo’nique…)

Yeah, they are kinda funny and entertaining, but it’s really a serious issue.

Yeah, we have Freedom of Speech but where should the line be drawn in our own conscious.

Sometimes, we just ought to know and act better.

AUGUST 31 (2007)_–A crude “ghetto handbook” distributed to police patrolling Houston’s public schools has resulted in the suspension of one officer.

The eight-page booklet–a copy of which you’ll find below–was handed out in May by a officer with the city’s Independent School District, but did not come to the attention of school brass until recently, when a discrimination complaint was lodged.

The booklet, which was given to about 20 cops, is subtitled “Wucha dun did now?,” and purports to help the reader “learn to speak ebonics as if you just came out of the hood…because you could find you self with a problem one day and ebonics could save your life.”

The booklet offers definitions for street slang like “hoodrat” (”scummy girl”) and “foty” (a 40-ounce bottle of beer) and concludes with a “poem” incorporating these terms [That poem, as many of our readers have noted, is actually the lyrics from "Ebonics," a song by the rapper Big L].

It also includes a copyright notation that the booklet is a “first edition, second soon to follow.” That now appears to be the wishful thinking of a novice author.

The booklet was provided to TSG by school officials who removed the name of the suspended officer from the publication (as well as the names of several other cops who have not been disciplined). (8 pages)

I am at a loss for word after finding this out.

I don’t know how they can put her face on an “innocent” box of cereal and then she goes and poses on the cover and more as a under-age, leather-clad vixen in Elle Magazine August 09.

Is Disney star, Raven Symone, a baby mama?

Rumors have been flying around about Raven Symone recently giving birth to her child, well it’s allegedly true according to a source.

I was sent the first pics ever seen of Ravens alleged baby via a representative of her staff.  Sources say the birth was low key, and has been kept under wraps for awhile which is why the pic of the baby looks to be at least a month old.

Source revealed that Raven had a healthy and beautiful baby girl named Lilianna Pearman in an Atlanta Hospital. The father of Lilianna is allegedly Jussie Smollet (Jurnee Smollets older brother) Jussie (pics below) and Raven are best friends, but aren’t a couple. Congrats to the proud parents…

Well, if she is a baby mama…the baby  is A-DORE-ABLE and a 1/2!

Part of my wants to be there and the other half says, “Forget it”.  The “forget it” part is the part of me that wants to save my hide because the fans of MJ are no joke.

Who knows what could be going on in Los Angeles the next few days?  What I do know for sure is that there is going to be one hell of a celebration for a celebrity who’s life touched so many.

There are those who will pan this outporing of love towards MJ, but at this point, who cares.  In a world so plagued by destruction and death, why not have a celebration to remember the life of one of the most  famous people in the world.

Damn, the man can be dead and still fill a stadium.  Now, that’s not famous, that’s infamous.

LOS ANGELES – The curtain is slowly rising on Michael Jackson’s last show.

As in Jackson’s life, Tuesday’s public memorial at the downtown Staples Center includes the spectacle surrounding the show — legal drama, screaming fans, star power, live worldwide broadcast, unsavory accusations, even a parade of elephants — all adding up to what could be the biggest celebrity send-off of all time.

On the eve of the memorial, activity was spotted late Monday at the Forest Lawn Cemetery involving the Jackson family. The cemetery is the location where relatives were expected to hold a private funeral.

La Toya Jackson, wearing sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat, was seen being driven away from the cemetery. KCAL-TV showed helicopter footage of a hearse backing up to the Hall of Liberty — a circular building at the cemetery that contains a 1,200 seat auditorium — to deliver a casket.

A few hours later, the casket was reloaded into the hearse and delivered to another nearby building, this time covered in a blue cloth.

More than 1.6 million people registered for free tickets to Jackson’s downtown memorial. A total of 8,750 people were chosen to receive two tickets each.
