May 5, 2008

The post I wrote about Keisha Knight Pulliam a little while back has remained one of She So Ghetto’s top posts. This post this gets thousands of hits a week.

What is the allure of Keisha?

What has Keisha been up to?

Acting, of course, and college!

Keshia Knight Pulliam (born April 9, 1979 in Newark, New Jersey, U.S.) is an Emmy nominated Jamaican American actress.

She is most recognized and remembered for her role as Bill Cosby‘s youngest daughter and child, Rudy Huxtable, on the NBC sitcom, The Cosby Show. She became the youngest actress ever to be nominated for an Emmy at age six for best supporting actress. Even before that — at age 3 — she played Keshia on Sesame Street.

Her character on The Cosby Show, Rudy, was mostly known for being the “baby” of the family. She was very young at the start of the show, but grew up onscreen.

Rutgers Preparatory School in Somerset, New Jersey, The Potomac School in McLean, Virginia, and graduated from Foxcroft School in Middleburg, Virginia. She graduated from Spelman College in 2001 and participated in, and won, a celebrity version of Fear Factor in September 2002. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

In 2004, Knight Pulliam posed for a six-page lingerie and swimsuit layout in Black Men magazine in an attempt to get rid of her Rudy “little girl” image. The same year, she starred in Chingy‘s music video for “One Call Away“.

We just can’t let her grow up, can we… I guess, it’s a good thing that we’ll have “Rudy” forever thanks to Nick @ Nite!
